- ‘SOMEBODY TAKE ME’ TO HORROR NIGHTS FOR SINNERS
Image Source: Universal Studios If you hear an ethereal voice piercing the veil of reality within earshot of the gigantic minion looming on over the 101, your ears are not deceiving you. SINNERS, the Oscar winning triumph from filmmaker Ryan Coogler (Black Panther, Fruitvale Station) is coming to Universal’s Horror Nights with its own haunted house. Coogler, along with SINNERS producers Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian, shared in a joint statement that, “It’s been incredible to see audiences connect with Sinners in such a powerful way. Now, partnering with Halloween Horror Nights gives fans the chance to step even deeper into the world of the film — to feel the music, the atmosphere and the tension all around them. Watching it come to life on this scale has been really special for all of us.” The announcement unleashed unending speculation from fans online as to how the epic feature would be translated into an immersive experience. As they attempt to evade the vampires at every turn, fans will encounter some of their favorite characters lifted straight from the film including Sammie, Mary, Annie, Pearline and Cornbread. Caught in a deadly struggle between twins Smoke and Stack and the bloodthirsty vampires, guests must survive the night.” Will YOU go, Lassie?

This past weekend, Horror in Color , in collaboration with I.F.B. Studios , Brewyard , and AfroHorror , hosted Dreamhouse, an inclusive “fear-for-all” experience that brought together filmmakers, artists, and horror enthusiasts for a night celebrating creativity, community, and queer joy through the lens of horror. Held on Saturday, October 25 at I.F.B. Studios in Glendale , the event featured “The Scare Screen” Horror Shorts Showcase , presenting six original short films by emerging and acclaimed creators, including: Official Selections Don’t Wake The Baby (2023) — Jada Trabue Stray (2020) — Wanjiru M. Njendu Rift (2025) — Lucas Acosta Lightyears (2025) — Dagmawi Abebe , ft. Guests explored “Shop Till You Drop,” a pop-up Halloween marketplace featuring curated vendors, themed cocktails, and immersive installations that blurred the line between horror, art, and nightlife.
